About the Artwork

Inspired by Claude Monet’s Nymphéas, this large-scale work expands the language of Impressionism into a sculptural textile form.

Rather than depicting light and reflection, the piece constructs them physically. Thousands of threads function as brushstrokes, building a dense, atmospheric surface where color is not painted, but materially composed. The softness of the palette contrasts with the intensity of labor, anchoring the work between delicacy and monumentality.

Extending beyond its frame, cascading threads dissolve the limits of the image. The composition refuses containment - shifting from a pictorial field into an immersive spatial presence. What once belonged to the surface of water now occupies the viewer’s environment.

This is not a reinterpretation of a single painting, but a continuation of Monet’s vision in another medium. A translation of the ephemeral into the tactile.
